Congratulations to Team "Wireless Charging" (idea 56). We are really excited for all finalists and a really big thank you to all participants for your interest in this challenge!

We got over 200 submissions! 65 ideas got one or more TAPAS boards, 10 submissions were presentation-ready.
And now we have 5 finalists! YEAH 😃 The finalist's idea numbers were 40, 56, 68, 212 and 213.

Voice controlled stand-alone mobility assistant

A voice based mobility assistant ("robot") with the following components

-  Raspberry pi for motion control and automation algorithms

-  TAPAS as drive controller (3 axis)

-  Snips as voice platform

-  Raspberry pi Camera Module for vision


The  mobility assistant can be controlled via Snips - which is a stand-alone voice platform running on raspberry pi.


Being standalone, such a platform  doesn't require internet / wifi / cloud access, which is desirable due to configuration and privacy reasons, and an advantage over services such as alexa.


Applications -

- Transporting small household items within an apartment (e.g. food trays, coffee cups, etc)

- Collecting deliveries

- Stabilization of gait ("Rollator")

    could you please provide some more detail how your implementation will look like?

    The following notes might help you: 

    • What is the goal of your project?
    • How does the technical set-up look like?
    • How do you want to implement your idea? (step-by-step guide, schematics, plan, video or presentation will help!)
    • Are you working in a team? List the names of your team members.
    • How many TAPAS boards will you need for your project?
