The idea is build autonomous device for measuring track geometry, evaluation and consultancy.
It will be something like KRAB™ device but without necessary to by pushed / pulled by human operator or by vehicle.
It will be also modular for track gauges from 545mm to 1 668mm.
Device will be monitored by GPS localization and all information will be transmitted via mobile network to headquaters or operating vehicle parked near operation area. Also GPS module will be use for detecting problems with defects on rails and for track-gradient measurement.
Will be equipped with camera for recognition of elements near the track as Signals, point motors, train vehicle detectors, platforms, tunnel detection, etc. And also another one camera will be use for recording of track for engineers which will work with data in next processes.
There will be also lidar and radar for safety on measurening area and safety for workers on the track.
2x TAPAS boards will be used for controlling of speed and traction for wheel motors.
Our team consists from engineers from Siemens Zilina, Slovakia. We want to build this device in our free time and if we will be success we want to implement in Siemens company processes. We are not focusing to win challenge but to have opportunity to work with TAPAS board and learn something new.
