My idea is to develop an application utilizing the TAPAS software defined inverter as a method of generating small scale domestic AC electricity by hydroelectric power for use by consumers where electrical grid connections are challenging or impossible.
Deploying small hydroelectric turbines combined in an array, scalable dependent on the power demands of the local consumers, the TAPAS would provide a static frequency converter function as a method by which the hydroelectric energy can be converted to a usable 240V 50Hz domestic supply from the complex frequency array of of input voltages.
To support the idea of this being deployed in remote locations, the TAPAS would serve a second function as a trickle feed to the 48V battery supply for longevity.
This prototype design would require 1 TAPAS board and DC PSU, with the a test rig incorporating 2-3 small turbines to demonstrate the concept.
I am working alone on this concept; my background is electrical and electronic engineering, and I am currently working as a Project Engineer (Signalling Systems) on large scale infrastructure projects.
