We got over 200 submissions! 65 ideas got one or more TAPAS boards, 10 submissions were presentation-ready.

Control fanspeed of hotair fan in domestic heater - Energy saver

Make a setup with the TAPAS board and raspberry pi to control the fan speed of the domestic heater ( boiler water to air heater ).The existing setup uses a autotransformer with a thermoswitch to control the fan speed (low/high). My goal is to make the fan react to the heat request from the room temperature controller via the OPENTHERM protocol, and adjust the speed of the fan to the value of the boiler water temperature ( I2C temperature sensor on heat exchanger ). In case of no heat request from the room controller switch the fan completely off to save energy ( 2.5kWh per day  during summer time )

    Thank you for the submission. Can you give a bit more technical details( like the ratings, the type of fan etc.) and also if possible schematics? That will help us a lot. And don't forget that deadlines are near!
