We got over 200 submissions! 65 ideas got one or more TAPAS boards, 10 submissions were presentation-ready.
And now we have 5 finalists! YEAH ๐Ÿ˜ƒ The finalist's idea numbers were 40, 56, 68, 212 and 213.
What's next?
We are now preparing the next steps for you, the community. Please stay tuned!
We are working on a forum and a separate webpage. If you have any question please don't hesitate to contact us via email!

[Example Project Idea] Wind generator for developing countries

I would like to create wind power generator for off-grid applications in Afrika. I would use the TAPAS board to charge a battery which in turn is used as the power source to charge mobile phones and power led lighting.

ย

As the generator I would like to use a car alternator like they did, for example, in this project:ย Simple wind generator

For the structure / mast / blades of the wind generatorย I would create simple building instructions so people can build them from parts they have available locally.ย

The things I will have to tackle regarding TAPAS are:

- Modify the motor control code for TAPAS to be used as a generator

- Create some kind of algorithm that controls the speed of the wind turbine and maximizes the power output
